Gower Holiday

Sunday 11th – Thursday 15th Sept 2011

Twentyfour members of the Mid Glos Ramblers enjoyed a walking holiday on The Gower Peninsula organised by the committee. We  stayed at The Oxwich Bay Hotel where we were made very welcome by a very attentive staff and proceeded to eat and drink far too much!

Fortunately we had planned a comprehensive walking programme and over the three days managed to work off some of the excess!  Between the  ‘A’ Group Walks and the shorter ‘B’ Group Walks a total distance of 41+ miles was achieved.

Day 1 Monday, led by Margaret and Mike, was a challenge due to strong to very strong winds faced on our homeward trek from Three Cliffs Bay and is sure to be remembered in the 'folklore' of the RA Mid Glos Group.
